Exceptional Nordic Houses – Exner’s House

Year 2012

Inger and Johannes Exner created a timeless house back in 1961—for themselves and their children. It looks as though it has always been here, and it is as much a part of the place as the ancient burial mound next door, its nearest neighbour.
Yet it is also a modern house, from the early days of the Space Age when it was built—perhaps because the Exners did not follow fashions, but had a keen understanding of history and of everyday life as it is lived in a house like this.

Planning: Jan Haugaard
Host: Eva Harlou
Expert: Michael Sheridan
Cinematography: Marek Bican
DR commissioning editor: Lars Rønnov Torp, SVT commissioning editor: Ulrika Midunger, SVT editor: Micael Lekberg, DR K editor: Mette Heiberg
Production: nordvision, svt, DR, 2012
