Koldinghus, restoration 1972-1992<\/p>\n
Christ IV\u2019s Chapel, which before the fire of 1808 probably resembled the chapel at Frederiksborg Castle with its pulpits, galleries, columns and ornamentation, has been restored using a minimalist approach, consisting of a new floor, with underfloor heating, and raised wooden floors on the sides where the galleries once stood. New cast-iron lamp stands are located where the pillars once stood.
\nIn the nave, Viggo Norn\u2019s concrete beamed ceiling was preserved, and new lighting was designed in the form of three large brass chandeliers, shaped like the ribs of the Renaissance star arch, which originally covered the church interior.
\nThe walls of the space remain as they have been since the fire, merely dusted.
\nThe lighting serves to highlight the space\u2019s original form. <\/p>\n
